Complaints
As a consumer you always have the right to complain about a defect in a product to us, regardless of whether it is hidden or visible. According to applicable law, you have the right to complain for 3 years from the date of purchase. Defects in the product must be complained about within a "reasonable time" from the time the defect was discovered. If you make a complaint within 2 months of the time of purchase, it is always considered within "reasonable time".
This is not accepted as a reason for complaint:
-
Minor shade differences Shade differences occur due to different dye baths in production. The difference is usually small, but our colours "Natural" and "Oatmeal" can vary more. We can't control these as they are completely undyed and depend on the natural origin of the linen. The natural colour of flax varies from year to year and depends on its geographical origin.
-
Natural wear The right of complaint does not apply in the event of wear and tear of the product as a result of normal use.
-
Bleaching of direct sunlight or lighting Himla's products are bleached over time by strong sunlight/artificial light and this cannot be avoided. Natural/undyed yarns are extra sensitive to light as these are not treated in the same way as dyed or bleached. Since we strive for production with as little environmental impact as possible, we have chosen not to use any extra chemicals to avoid this.
-
Minor dimensional deviations Dimensional deviations that are less than 1 cm for custom-made curtains and 1% on the regular assortment, unless otherwise specifically stated in the product description, are not considered a complaint. Remember that all our textiles are made of natural materials, and it is normal for these to stretch/contract in humid or dry climates. We measure all our textile products lying flat.
-
Excess fibres, lint and fluff Linen products fluff more than others, which is completely normal. Feel free to shake and air linen products outdoors or use a roller to remove lint. Lint is excess fibre that decreases over time.
-
Shrinkage allowance within the limits specified in the product description. The washing instructions must be followed in order for the shrinkage allowance to apply.
-
Irregularities in fabric It is normal for linen textiles to have uneven yarns; This is part of the characteristic appearance of linen and is natural. Some linen textiles have a lot of slub/unevenness while some hardly have any at all.
Always follow the recommended washing instructions for each product, and do not use detergents containing bleach.
Once we have received the item that you wish to complaint, we will decide whether there is a defect in the product or not. In the case of a wrong, we will compensate you as soon as possible but no later than 30 days from the time we received the item from you. In the event of an approved complaint, you as a customer are of course not responsible for any shipping or return costs.
If you are not satisfied, you can contact the General Complaints Board (ARN), Box 174, SE-101 23 Stockholm, with your case. However, Himla does not undertake to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings or to comply with ARN's notified decision.
